Downes Vets website design
Downes Vets had a very comprehensive website but it did not adapt to tablet or mobile devices. Google changed it’s rules for mobile search results in April 2015 and begin demoting companies whose websites did not comply. More than 50% of searches are now made on mobile devices so this is something that could not be ignored.
The website design structure was outdated which meant a lot of pinching and zooming when viewed on a mobile phone. Some of the text was an image rather than being live editable text, which is also frowned upon in todays web design best practices. We had already created a new visual identity for welcome packs and preventative healthcare packs, so it was logical to move that branding online and build a new site from scratch.
The business has three branches, each requiring an individual page. Each page was quite visual with pictures of the practice, contact details and brief descriptions and photos of all the staff members working in that branch. We created some comprehensive registrations forms and linked up their Facebook feed.
