Complete transformation for Gordon Vets website design
Gordon Vets website design needed a complete overhaul. The format was out-dated and the website was barely useable on a mobile phone.
We took the content from the current site and moved it into a wordpress format. Every page was completely rebuilt. The original pages were renamed, had suitable keywords and descriptions added and text content was adjusted to make these pages as SEO focused as possible – then all original URLs were redirected using 301 redirect scripts to the new pages in the new website.
You can see the visual difference between the ‘before’ and ‘after’ screen shots below.
There were several user experience (UX) problems with the site, but the main issue was to fix the way the practice information was presented to the user. The original home page was cluttered and required the user to look hard for address and contact and opening times details. By colour coding the branches we were able to create a definite distinction between each location on the home page and collate basic information together in order for the user to see address and telephone details for each practice with a clear link through to that practices home page. The colour coding was carried through to these practice pages too.
Another Feature of this website is the multi-selection header – this is visible throughout the whole website and enables a user via a dropdown, to select a practice to display there contact details – this also work in the responsive mode when viewed on mobile phones and smart devices.
This site was a pleasure to build and has made a huge difference to the practice in terms of branding and identity and will pushed forward into new marketing materials.
